The overall mandate was to relocate the bulk of the activities of the Canadian Guild of Crafts from its Peel Street location right into the heart of the museum district on Sherbrooke Street. With its retail space offering Canadian, Inuit and First Nations art, as well as its complementary support spaces regrouping a permanent collection, archives and administrative quarters, the Guild faced the challenge of orchestrating a careful zoning of its program on the three floors inherent to its new location, a turn of the century grey-stone classic Montreal townhouse.
