The new Biology Pavilion is part of the Science Complex of UQAM. The new pavilion comprises research and teaching laboratories, animal quarters, a science library, a lecture centre, class rooms, teachers' offices and administration complete the premises. The building is linked with the Place-des-Arts metro station and tops a 450-place parking lot.

Three renovated and restored heritage buildings, located in the center of the Science Complex, lodge the «Coeur des Sciences» where academics, students and the general public will intermingle and benefit from this centre promoting the diffusion and popularization of science.

A new student residence building, clad in a swallow's nest hatch window pattern that telegraphs the active social life within, accommodates 500 students in a variety of living arrangements. Apartments will also be available for guest professors. The Biology Pavilion is registered as a green building with the US Green Building Council for a LEED certification.
