Renovation of the original Bell Canada switchboard building dating to the 1920's, and expansion of the annex dating to the 1960's. Phase 1 consisted in relocating certain functions in order to free up space for offices, closing in the interior courtyard with a glass roof and wall to create an atrium, updating the function and the presentation of the main entrance, renovating public services and elevators, and providing for underground parking. Phase 2 consisted in adding two stories above the existing building for additional office space. One of the challenges presented by the project was the incorporation of modern construction while recapturing the building's historical elements.
